Lost Recap: #6:05 – “Lighthouse” (video)

Tonight’s episode centered on Jack Shephard and his half-sister Claire Littleton. It was a fast-paced episode with answers, more questions and insight into one of the long-running themes of “Lost:” destiny vs. free will.

Jack Has What It Takes

Jack’s life in the flash-sideways is troubled, yet far more rewarding than his real life ever was. In this reality, Jack is a father to a son who fears him, much the same way Jack feared his own father, and never felt he could live up to expectations. But in the end, Jack breaks through to his son and they bond. It is the relationship Jack never could have with his own father.

Jack helps his mother search the house for a copy of Christian Shephard’s will. Upon reading the document, Jack’s mother asks him, “Did your father ever mention the name Claire Littleton?” This is the first real link between our survivors in the flash-sideways and their counterparts in the past. It is essential that Jack and Claire be genetically linked to one another in the flash-sideways and in reality. Read the rest of this entry »

Lost Untangled: “The Substitute” (video)

Here’s this week’s hilarious recap/explanation of “Lost.”

Lost Recap: #6:04 – “The Substitute” (video)

Warning: In addition to a recap or summary, this post contains theories and/or spoilers. Consider yourself warned.

Whoa! Well, we’ve wanted answers and tonight’s episode of “Lost” delivered two of the biggest questions of the series (or at least began to answer): what are the numbers; and destiny verses accident. But, in order to fully understand the significance of tonight’s episode “The Substitute,” you have to take the time to refresh your memory of this poignant scene from the pilot episode of “Lost.”

Jordan (VS Features Editor) and I recently had a discussion over the significance and foreshadowing involved in this scene. It’s easy to look back on the entire series now, and see the progression of the good/bad forces at work.  And it all began with the pilot episode, between a white man and black child, over the ancient game of Backgammon. That’s deep.

Before I offer my funky analysis, here’s the recap: Read the rest of this entry »

Lost: In Memoriam (video)

I’ve been holding this clip for a while, looking for the right opportunity to share it with my fellow Lostphiles. Now that the final season is in full swing, I think the time has come.

The video was presented at last summer’s Comic Con by Lost producers and cast members. It’s very creative, funny, and a great way to honor those “Lost” characters who have died in the first 5 seasons of the series.

Enjoy.

Lost: Sneak Peek #6:04 – “The Substitute”

Locke (Not-Locke) is up to something really bad. It seems that he needs Sawyer and is willing to answer a very important question to gain the con-man’s assistance.

Meanwhile….John Locke in the flash sideways (that’s what ABC’s calling it) has landed in Los Angeles and resumed his humdrum life in the cubicle at the box company. But, everything isn’t as it should be.

Here’s your first peek at next week’s new episode of “Lost.”  It looks like Not-Locke (smokey) meets-up with Sawyer.

Lost Untangled – “What Kate Does” (video)

To supplement our own weekly episode recap of “Lost,” here is the latest installment of ABC’s popular “Lost Untangled” series.

Hilarious.

Lost Recap: Ep. 6:03 “What Kate Does” (video)

Producers are quickly living up to their promise to deliver answers to questions, while posing new ones on the way to the big ending. Tonight, Losties had one big question answered: Where is Claire?

So, we know that originally Kate was wanted for the murder of her stepfather. That’s what she did. So, in the alternate timeline, what is it that Kate does? More on that later.

Lost: Hurley’s “Mr. Cluck” Commercial (video)

We interrupt the final season of “Lost” to bring you this commercial message.

The commercials were originally presented at COMIC CON 2009 last summer and point to the alternate reality in the final season. Hurley comments on his “recent trip to Australia,” and in the Oceanic Air spot, the company claims a perfect “safety record” since 1979.

In the “Lostalternate timeline, Kate hijacks a cab and demands the pregnant Claire to get out.

Thanks to the folks over at SL-Lost.com for this great video. This is episode #3 “The Numbers,” one in a series those folks produced leading up to Season 6 of “Lost. ”

Lost Producers Announce Finale’ Date

Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse announced on Tuesday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that “Lost’s” final episode will air Sunday, May 23.  This is a change from the initial episode schedule announced prior to the start of Season 6, which is probably an indication that “Lost” will skip a week (or more ?) to make room for other shows, or simply to capitalize on the frenzy over the final episode and make us wait.

Lost S6: “LA X” side-by-side with Pilot Episode (video)

This is a great video, a side-by-side comparison of this week’s S6 premiere, showing the alternate reality Oceanic 815, with the pilot episode showing our Losties on the original flight 815.

What’s different?

Lost Untangled: “LA X”

ABC is continuing the tradition of providing humorous recaps of each Lost episode with  their popular “Untangled” videos.

Here’s this week’s installment for the season premiere: “LA X

Lost Recap – S6:”LA X” (video)

Lost fans are still in a frenzy over last night’s season premiere episode (part 1 and 2) “LA X.” And we were not disappointed.  The good news: Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Hugo, Sayid, Miles and Jin are no longer trapped in 1977. The bad news: things did not get better.

Instead of two time lines, we are now faced with one time line, with what appears to be an alternate reality created by the explosion of the hydrogen bomb. While the characters awake in 2007, they are unaware that in an alternate reality, Oceanic flight 815 lands in Los Angeles.

Lost: What you need to know before the premiere (video)

There are only a few reasons why you wouldn’t know anything about Lost:

  1. You’ve actually been lost on a deserted island for more than 5 years
  2. You were in an auto accident and suffered amnesia after the season 5 finale
  3. You were naive enough to think the show was just about people who crashed on an island,
    and never bothered to watch
  4. You’re George Bush and your’re too simple to grasp a semi-complex plot
  5. You live in a self-sustaining hatch underground
  6. You’re dead Read the rest of this entry »
